Work with an Agent and Save Money when Selling!

A common complaint when working with a real estate agent is their commission. Why pay an agent a commission if you can sell your home yourself? You’ll save money, right?
Not exactly.
People may avoid using a real estate agent because they think it is going to cost them money. In fact, when working with a qualified real estate agent, you get much more in return than what you pay in commission. An agent can alleviate the stress involved with selling your home, save you time and make your cost in selling less expensive.
Real estate agents save you money because they know exactly what price you should place on your home. It’s not a guessing game when working with an agent. Agents know the market and know what price you can get on your home, as well as what price will get it to sell quickly and at a profit. If you price your home too low when selling it yourself, you’ll be upset when you find out you are selling it for much less than it is worth. On the flip side, if you price it too high, you may have your home on the market for a long time, costing you additional money in the process.
Agents can save you time, and we all know that time is money! If you plan on selling your home on your own, have you considered the amount of time you will personally need to invest in the process? Selling your home can become a full-time job. If you’re employed, do you have time (or energy) to take on a second job? Working with an agent makes the process easy for you. Selling is their job and frees up your time for your family, friends and hobbies.
Another way real estate agents can actually save you money is because of who they know. You may find out in the selling process that you need to make repairs or improvements to your home prior to selling. Agents know the community. They know the best contractors, landscapers and more…to save you money (and time) when you need to fix things around your home before you sell.
