Working with a Military Relocation Professional (MRP)

If you or a member of your family are in the military or are a veteran, there are many additional considerations when buying or selling a home. As a Military Relocation Professional, I have the tools available to help ease your transition, no matter what stage of life you are in.

I help you every step of the process and can even help you after you buy your home. For example, when natural disasters and severe storms strike, it can be stressful and confusing to know what to do if your home gets damaged. If you used a VA home loan to purchase your home, there are certain steps you can take if your home is affected by a natural disaster to make sure you get the assistance you need.

Something else to consider is the exemption for VA home loan funding fees.  A VA home loan, backed by the Department of Veteran Affairs, is one of the top benefits used by military veterans. What isn’t always known is that the VA charges a "funding fee" with its loans, which is required by law and used by the department to offset the taxpayers' cost of offering the benefit. However, there’s an exemption - veterans who have been awarded a VA disability rating are exempt from the funding fee.

Also, once you’ve retired from the military, what do you do with your Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)? You’ll be faced with a choice – cash out your TSP or hold on to it until you hit distribution age. To help you make that decision, a number of factors need to be contemplated, including possible tax implications. Learn more about your options.

These are just some of the many topics I can help you with when you navigate buying or selling your home. Call me today to get started. I’m happy to help! 610-413-0520 or 610-372-0212
